Access to the Kiplinger Research Library and our exhibits is always free of charge.
Programs are frequently free to attend but may require advance registration.
Tickets for paid events may be purchased online on the event’s webpage.
We are located two blocks south of the Mount Vernon Sq/7th St – Convention Center Metro Station (yellow and green lines) and two blocks north of the Gallery Pl – Chinatown Metro station (red, yellow, and green lines).
The following bus lines stop within two blocks of Mount Vernon Square: D4X, D6X, D24, D32, D34, D40,D80, D90
There is no parking on site, but there is paid street parking on the surrounding streets.
The best way to enter the building is on the K Street side, either the main staircase or the ramps leading to the lower-level entrance.
You may enjoy the exhibits at your own pace and for whatever length of time you prefer. DC History Center staff and volunteers are available to greet you and answer questions during hours when the West Gallery and Retail Store are open. Our retail store stocks staff-recommended books on local history, DC History Center branded items, and a variety of artwork, accessories, and apparel related to our mission and exhibits. All store proceeds support our ongoing work.
