Laura Brower Hagood Joins Destination DC Board of Directors

The DC History Center is honored to announce that its executive director, Laura Brower Hagood, joined Destination DC’s Board of Directors at its most recent meeting.

As the official destination marketing organization for Washington, DC, Destination DC promotes the nation’s capital as a premier destination for business, convention, trade show, meeting, and leisure travel. In doing so, it creates an economic impact that supplies new jobs and benefits the District’s local economy and community. By developing and executing centralized and cohesive sales and marketing strategies, Destination DC generates economic development for the city through tourism, meetings, sports and special events. In 2024, visitor spending totaled $11.4 billion, representing more than $2.3 billion in new tax dollars for the District of Columbia.

Laura, who also serves on the District’s America250 Commission, looks forward to advocating for DC’s world-class arts and cultural organizations and advancing their tourism priorities in this new role.
