Schedule Appointment

Email library@dchistory.org to schedule your appointment. Please request your appointment at least two weeks prior to your desired date. In your request, please include the following information:

  • At least three dates/times (10am or 1pm) that would work for you
  • Your research topic
  • And if applicable, specific materials from our collection including Object ID or Call Number. You can search our online catalog for general or specific topics, names and places.

If needed, appointments may also be requested by calling the Kiplinger Research Library at 202-516-1363 ext. 302.  While this line is not currently staffed, we will check messages regularly.

Reference staff will confirm the date and time of your appointment via email. We are also available to help you identify additional materials that would be helpful for your research. 

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and health and safety guidelines, we have implemented new procedures aimed at keeping our staff and visitors safe.

  • Same-day appointments are not available
  • Researchers must wear masks for the duration of their time with us
  • Cancel or do not make an appointment if you or someone in your household:
    • Is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
    • Has been recently (within 14 days) exposed to a symptomatic or infected person.
    • Been asked to self-quarantine
  • Symptomatic researchers will be asked to leave
