Take a break and play like it’s recess—indoors! From 1–2 pm, Thursday through Sunday, the DC History Center puts out classic games just outside our exhibit Class Action, which explores the history of education in Washington, DC. Join us for Connect 4, hopscotch, giant Jenga, hula hoops, colorful play parachute, and oversized tic-tac-toe. Whether you’re feeling nostalgic or just need to get the wiggles out, our “recess” games offer a playful way to explore. Free and open to all!

Plan Your Visit
Two young children play indoors with hula hoops, facing each other on a polished floor. One wears a red dress and sneakers, the other a white top and striped skirt with colorful ribbons in their hair. A rainbow parachute lies on the floor behind them near a decorative railing.
