To prepare for the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), the museum hosted a behind-the-scenes preview on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. The long anticipated opening of NMAAHC will be the Smithsonian Institution’s 19th museum.
The Historical Society was honored to participate in to NMAAHC’s media preview; below are images from our time at the museum. They feature some of the D.C. history you can expect to experience when you visit.
