Join us for a one-of-a-kind “processing party” celebrating the DC History Center’s Fall Campaign and the remarkable Martha Tabor Photograph Collection—a treasure trove of photographs, ephemera, and personal papers documenting art, labor, and community life in Washington, DC.
This interactive event invites donors to the Fall Campaign to step behind the scenes and take part in the process of preserving history. You’ll get hands-on experience with the Tabor collection through activity stations focused on inventorying, re-foldering, and digitizing materials. At our “Explore” station, learn more about Martha Tabor herself and the stories her collection reveals.
Anyone who has donated $10 or more to the fall fundraising campaign can register. Donors will receive a link via email. Make a donation before October 31!
No prior archival experience is necessary—just your curiosity and enthusiasm for local history! DC History Center staff will guide all activities and share insight into how archival collections are cared for and made accessible to the public. Neat handwriting and ability to read cursive is a plus!
Space is limited, and registration is required. If the event fills, a wait list will be available, and we’ll contact you if a spot opens.
