On January 20, 2024, the DC History Center hosted a virtual, behind-the-scenes collections orientation to meet some of the colorful characters from the stacks at the DC History Center. With the help of some special guests, we walk you through the stacks. On the shelves and in boxes, we’ll find iconic individuals and peculiar personalities who lived extraordinary lives. During this virtual program, you’ll meet Washingtonians who were larger than life and whose lives, work, and passions are visible in the archival material they left behind.
This is your chance to take a closer look at the DC History Center collections and to learn some tricks and tips for researching the characters you encounter in the archive. DC History Center collections orientations help attendees learn how to conduct their research but are also a fun way to learn about materials from our collection! We encourage you to schedule an appointment at the Kiplinger Research Library.
