DC History Center is a nonprofit dedicated to deepening understanding of our city’s past to connect, empower, and inspire. Our small team of talented staff work together to support our mission through thought-provoking programs, educational initiatives, scholarly publications, and many more innovative projects, partnerships, and opportunities. Located on Mt. Vernon Square across from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the DC History Center is headquartered in the historic Carnegie Library includes the Kiplinger Research Library, three exhibit galleries, and a museum shop. The DC History Center offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees.

MANAGER OF EDUCATION (FULL-TIME)
The DC History Center seeks a highly organized, flexible, collaborative team player to fill its Manager of Education position. This position is responsible for strategy, planning, and execution of all K-12 education programs. The manager of education builds relationships with DC schools, administration, and teachers to encourage and facilitate use of DC History Center resources, and will develop and deliver in-person and virtual educational programs.

LIBRARY SERVICES COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)
The DC History Center is seeking a Library Services Coordinator. As an integral member of the Library and Collections team, the coordinator will staff the researcher registration desk, facilitate pulling and reshelving of special collections materials, maintain library services statistics, and support library programs and field trips.

MANAGING EDITOR (PART-TIME, CONTRACT)
The DC History Center is seeking to fill the short-term contract position of Managing Editor for the fall 2024 issue of Washington History magazine, focusing on home rule and statehood. Working closely with the Editor, Photo Editor, and Graphic Designer, the Managing Editor is a crucial part of the magazine production team.

Fellowships

The DC History Center offers fellowships to emerging scholars of DC history while encouraging visibility of our connections and collections. Through stipends, dedicated workspace, and mentorship, our fellowships provide scholars with resources and an intellectual community to develop new research, public outreach, and publications.
