Are you a Friend or an Investor at the DC History Center? Sign up for our Saturday, April 20 free, member-only tour of Tudor Place Historic House & Gardens’s new installation, Ancestral Spaces! Space is limited, and registration is first come, first served. If you can no longer attend, please reach out or cancel your registration as soon as possible so another member has the opportunity to participate.

 

Event Details:

  • Tudor Place is located at 1644 31st Street, NW in Washington, DC. The main entrance is on 31st Street, NW between Q & R Streets, NW in Georgetown. Street parking is available in the neighborhood without a Zone 2 sticker free for two hours Monday through Saturday.
  • Attendees will meet outside of Tudor Place at 10:45 am. The tour will start at 11 am.
  • The tour will last 30-45 minutes, including the opportunity for Q&A. Members are welcome to explore the gardens after their tour.

Tudor Place Historic House & Garden
Tudor Place preserves the stories of six generations of descendants of Martha Washington, and the enslaved and free people who lived and worked at this Georgetown landmark for nearly two centuries.

Ancestral Spaces: People of African Descent at Tudor Place
Curated in collaboration with descendants, this special installation and guided tour presents the multi-faceted individuals and families of African descent who lived and worked at Tudor Place. Explore the historic house through their lives, learn how they impacted the world around them, and discover their enduring legacy.
