Window to Washington features selections from the 4,000 rare maps, prints, photographs, and paintings from the recent gift of the Kiplinger Collection to the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. Before its transfer, the Kiplinger Collection was one of the largest privately held collections of Washingtoniana displayed in the headquarters of the Kiplinger Washington Editors offices near Lafayette Square. Dating from the late 1600s, the Kiplinger Collection is an important visual resource documenting the history of the Capital City and evolving cityscape. This exhibition marks the beginning of permanent public access to this notable collection now on view at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C.
